Tips for
Communicating with Senators & Their Aids:
Always be concise, tactful, and polite.
Introduce yourself to the person answering the phone. Tell them you are a constituent from (your city).
Tell them you expect Congress to come through for the American People with a STRONG
health care reform package that includes a STRONG Public Option. Tell them you support the President's plan and if they are
working to pass it, thank them.
Some Washingtonians
believe that professional looking, spell-checked, snail-mail letters on letterhead have the most impact. Phone messages rank
above email.
We will keep
the website’s list of Senators and their positions on the public option updated.
You
can always call elected officials from other states who you would like to see replaced and tell them why. Let them know that
you can donate election funds to their opponents just as well as a constituent.
Call and ask our elected Oregon officials to stay strong for
a public option.
